Merry Christmas!!

Hey people. It has been a surprising Christmas week. One of the best Christmas I ever had.

Calvin wasn’t feeling well last week. He’s having high fever over the weekend. So I have to choose food that won’t make his fever go any higher. He’s so pitiful because of the high temperature, red dots appeared all over his body *hugzzz*

But being a good bf, he still hung out with me over the weekend. Being the best good gf, I did not made him stayed out for long and make sure he has plenty of rest and water. *proud face*

Anyway, we watched The Avatar over the weekend. Everyone told me that the movie is very nice. I was very reluctant to watch the movie because of the blue aliens. Since so many good comments about the movie and not even one bad comment about it, me and Calvin decided to watch the movie. Initially, we wanted to watch at Sunway Pyramid but then we are unable to buy tickets online. So we just walked around and had our dinner there. We choose Porridge Time because Calvin was sick and I love porridge :)

003 (2)

004 (2)

001 (2)

I ordered Duck Porridge and he ordered Shredded Chicken Porridge. Love the porridge because it’s really thick and won’t turn watery so soon. They have different types of porridge and the price it’s not expensive at all. Same price with the hawker stalls. But I don’t really fancy the yau char kueh because it’s too oily and crunchy.

 002 (2)

Calvin playing my new pink Nintendo while waiting for his food to arrive. Check out his face expression :p hahaha. So cute. He’s playing Super Mario, which is really really funny.

I had to work on Christmas because it’s on my normal working day. Can’t really complain because of the triple pay :) Had lunch with Wai Kin and I suggested Kinnaree because I always passed by that place but never try it before. It’s actually a Thai Restaurant with really nice interior design. Love that place very much.

005 (2)

The napkin holder is very pretty. Fork and spoon are really big and heavy. The whole arrangement looks like a lotus pond :)

006 (2)

007 (2)

Our food. Wai Kin ordered Pineapple Fried Rice and I ordered Basil Leaf with Chicken. Very delicious. It’s hard to go wrong with Thai Food. Sour and Spicy!! Yummy yummy :)

Me and Calvin went to 1U after work on Friday and managed to buy tickets for The Avatar. Had a hard time deciding between TGI Friday & Fish & Co. but TGI Friday won.

008 (2)

The decoration reminds me of Bubba Gump at The Curve. Somehow the Star-Wars-Sabre-lookalike thingy reminded me of David. HAHAHAHA. I can imagine him holding that thing and pretend to be one of the Star Wars character. Damn funny. Am glad that David finally met Calvin. Details of how they met will be at the end of this post.

009 (2)

My Pepsi and his… some orange drink which tasted like orange peel more than orange juice. Haha. That is Calvin looking really cute at the background :) *hugzzz*

010

011

Our food. He had chicken while I ordered Jack Daniel’s Steak burger. YUMMY!!! Maybe the cheese spoiled the taste a bit since I’m not a big fan of sliced cheese but the Jack Daniel’s sauce is really good :) During dinner, I received an sms from Mei Yee telling me that Shinshin is engaged!! OMG!! I’m so happy but not surprised because I knew about the proposal at the middle of the year :) I’m so happy for her.

Anyway, Avatar is really good, especially the last 20 minutes of the show because that’s the only part of the whole movie that I watched. There were too much talking at the beginning. Too much talking + whole day of working + air cond + dark = wai wai sleep like a piggy. Haha. Basically, I only watched like 30 minutes (10 minutes from the beginning and the last 20 minutes at the end) of a nearly 2.5 hours movie :) Calvin watched the whole movie so while we were walking towards the car park after the movie ended, he told me a short summary of the movie. Hahaha.

Went over to Mei Yee’s place on Sunday with Wai Leng and Calvin for mahjong session.

014

Bought doughnuts and Shihlin Fried Chicken because both me and Calvin have not take out lunch. Mahjong session was really fun and nice. Mei Yee’s mum prepared food juice for us which is really yummy. Dragon fruit, apple and starfruits blend together. Yum yum. Me like :) Mahjong session continue after dinner till late. Ahh… I’m so happy :)

Ohhhh wait, there’s also my Christmas surprise. Wanted to get a Nintendo DS Lite in light pink like 2 days before Christmas and David can get one for me. Supposed to get it on Christmas but then David said the supplier gave him another shade of pink. He said can give it to me before I finish work. So I said okay. I’m really excited and happy the whole day. Calvin told me he also bought me a Christmas gift but he can’t tell me what it is. His clue was

a) Starts with the letter P and it’s not the brand name

b) Something that I don’t have

c) Not edible (I guessed Pavlova initially)

d) The whole thing is 4 letters word.

e) Found not only in shopping malls..

I guessed the whole day and Alex knew the answer too!! How is it possible that Alex can help Calvin out to get the present?

Anyway, around 4 something, David said he can’t get it on time and earliest will be around 8pm at night. So, me being really excited, told him that I will be around office area after work. Once get that thing, call me and I will go get it from him at the office. So he said okay. Was a little bit heart broken because I waited the whole day but still can’t get it. The chances of getting the Nintendo on Christmas seemed to be really low. So after work, Calvin came to my office to picked me up. The first thing that I told him when I got onto his car was “David don’t have the Nintendo yet but he can get it around 8pm today. So we go somewhere near the office area la”. It’s not even a request but more like a statement that I’m giving to Calvin because I really wanted to meet my Nintendo that day. Then I noticed a gift wrapped up nicely at the bottom of Calvin’s seat. So I said “I want to open my present now” with a naive smile :) He passed me the present. I opened one side of the present and the box said Nintendo DS. I gasped really loud and looked at him. All he did from the minute I entered his car was smile up to the moment I gasped loudly and look at him. I was like “*gaspppppp* OH MY GOD!!” Haha. He bought the Nintendo DS for me. I nearly cry when with the present opened halfway at my hand. Then he told me the whole story.

When I said I wanted to get that for myself, he said he wants to pay for it and give to me as a gift for Christmas. I said no because I have already requested for the cute Pooh Bear pillow in his car. He kept on telling that he will pay and I kept on saying no as well. Seeing me that stubborn, he came out with a plan. He called up Alex and asked for David’s number. So he has to tell Alex his plan as well. Then once he got David’s number, he called up David and introduced himself and tell him his plan. David said “It’s very hard to lie to her leh”, but Calvin assured her that it’s worth it. So David helped him with his plan. So on the day that David was supposed to give me the Nintendo, both David and Calvin came out with an acting plan. Calvin said he will get the present for me in the afternoon while David told me he has not get the Nintendo from the supplier yet. When I was disappointed, David even messaged Calvin “She was so sad that can’t get the Nintendo today lol”. Calvin replied “No worries, she will be very happy later”. Then around 4 something, David sneaked out of the office. I used the word sneaked because my place is actually facing the main door and whoever that walks in and out of the office will be very visible to me. But I’m always busy with work and staring at the computer, I don’t really notice who is walking in and out of the office. He went to 7-11 to look for Calvin. Both he and Calvin have never met each other previously. But Calvin said it’s easy to recognise David because he’s the only one there holding a plastic bag and Calvin is the only one standing outside 7-11. So both of them met each other that day. David passed the Nintendo to Calvin and Calvin went to Cold storage to find a pretty wrapper for it. David went up to the office, pretend to be normal and even played his Nintendo in front of me (which made me super eager to hold my own Nintendo more).

Finally, Calvin’s surprise succeeded. I really did not expect this at all. When I saw the wrapped box, I thought it’s a photo frame or something. His first surprise, my flower birthday surprise, failed because I went out for lunch when his flowers arrived :p

015 (2)

My new addition to the pink family!! Now when I open my bag, the contents are all in pink. Pink wallet, pink handphone pouch, pink pouch for important stuff, red apple for coins and pink pouch for my pink Nintendo!! Yay!! The Super Mario pouch is a gift from David, which I treat it as a Christmas gift from David. Thank you very much :) and thanks dear for everything. I really did not see it coming, at all. Not even slight clue. My birthday wallet, well, I guessed a little bit but the spelling part is quite confusing though. But this… 4 words that starts with P… I would never guess that it’s actually Pink Nintendo DS Lite. Thanks dear *hugzzz* I know you will be reading this :)

Merry Christmas everybody. Happy 2010 :)

Second Annual Dinner

Hi people. Happy end of Sunday :) I considered last week as celebration week because it’s my company annual dinner, Awal Muharram (triple pay!!) and Yanti pernikahan dinner at Subang Villa :)

Did not take much photos during the annual dinner because I don’t have a camera with me and it’s quite dark in the ballroom. Furthermore, I reached the place late due to the traffic jam. But Benny took a few photos of me and tagged me in Facebook. Won another microwave during the lucky draw. Won a microwave and iron last year. Gave last year microwave away. This year, mum said she wants the microwave. Guess I’m the microwave queen. Haha. Food for the annual dinner isn’t really nice though. Somehow I prefer being served by the waiter rather than buffet style. Especially when I’m dressed up nicely :)

008

Yanti’s private pernikahan dinner was the most funny wedding dinner I have ever attended. We reached the place about 7pm because the invitation card stated 7pm. Nobody were there. Only a waiter lighting up the candles. The 4 of us (me, Chan, Sai Weng & Suk Yee) sat outside of the small hall and thought that they’re on the way. So Chan called Riszuan around 7.30pm asking where he is. He’s still at home!! Then Suk Yee called Ain and she’s still at home as well!! They said will probably reach around 8 something. So we sat there and gossip till around 8pm where other guests arrived. But Yanti and husband have not arrived. We went into the hall and choose the table at the corner. The dinner started at 9pm!!! Hahaha. When Yanti arrived, she looks very pretty in her white lace wedding dress. Then Riszuan said Malay wedding dinner really start that late. When Chan asked Yanti, her reply was short and simple. “It’s stated 7pm to 11pm, not 7pm sharp”. HAHAHAHAHA!! But we had a lot of fun that night. After that, the 3 of them went to Look Out Point to celebrate Jess’s birthday. I did not go because I’m very tired and went home early to sleep.

This week not much food adventure but glad that I finally have a chance to try the dry bak kut teh introduced in A Taste With Jason.

007

Maybe I’m not a big fan of salted fish. I seriously do not enjoy the bak kut teh very much. I think it’s just like a normal pork cook with dark soya sauce. It’s not that it’s not nice, but maybe I have high expectation of the food before I eat it. Well, at least I have satisfied my craving for the dry bak kut teh.

006

Have not been to BBQ Plaza for quite some time. Last visit was with Calvin and Yew Koon at the Times Square outlet. Noticed that there were some changes on the Deluxe Mix Set. No more pumpkin and less cabbage but with tauhu pok and broccoli. Both me and Calvin managed to finish the whole set. It’s still as good as it used to be :) Happy happy :)

Visited the Asia Cafe again for dinner last week with Calvin. Frankly speaking, I still prefer the Ikan Bakar at Mid Valley. Can’t find one that is better than that. Will keep on searching for the best Portugese Ikan Bakar at KL. The Thai Fried Rice was quite awful. Doesn’t taste like Thai Fried Rice at all. The dry bak kut teh was…. well… normal.

Will end this post with a happy photo of reunion of 2 long lost twin brothers :)

Another entry to No Good folder :)

Hi people. It’s a normal working Monday which is also my off day for the week :) Woke up early due to her royal highness Baby needs her nutritious breakfast which consist of only dog biscuit made of fish and potatoes. I brought Baby to a new vet who diagnosed her with a chronic skin disease that was never came to my knowledge for the past 5 years. He said the vet and some groomer could have identified the signs and symptoms easily. Experienced groomer should have, at least, because the signs and symptoms are very obvious. But a vet should know. In this case, I have no one to blame but myself. Me for all the not being able to identify the signs and symptoms earlier. But I did noticed them just that I thought it’s normal. My heart shattered into million pieces and I nearly burst into tears when the vet said “Your dog could have been suffering for more than 1 year for this problem silently”. @_@ I vowed to take good care of her more and will do the best for her. That’s one of the first few resolution for year 2010. Will blog about it at the end of the year. Have a few in my mind already :)

Food update : I’m disappointed that another restaurant has been added to my No Good folder in my Food folder in my Photos folder :)  But on the other hand, glad that I could identify that the food is not good at all earlier :) Especially when all the food that we (me & Calvin) picked were chef recommendation. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you … Little Taiwan.

041

042

Chocolate Snowy Ice and Salted Fried Chicken rice. Salted Fried Chicken rice is so so but is consider quite bad if it’s Chef Recommendation. The Chocolate Snowy Ice was absolutely … awful. Tasted really bad. Restaurant officially banned until further notice.

Second restaurant will be Madam Yip Restaurant (or something like that, forgot the name and couldn’t search the name in Google) at Sunway Pyramid.

035

036

039

The Siew Yoke was so so. Noticed that it’s really hard to find juicy Siew Yoke. The juicy level of this Siew Yoke is just like 3 out of 10. But the huge disappointment will be the Bak Kut Teh. What is the meaning of “chum chum” (campur-campur / mixed) when all the claypot consists was just ribs, taufu pok and fu chok. Basically I just ate 2 ribs and a lot of taufu pok. I’m not really a big fan of meat with bones. That’s why when I eat bak kut teh, I will only eat very little of those with bones and attack choose those belly areas. The yau char kueh is extremely crispy and hard that it has to be soaked for more than 5 minutes to be soft. You can hear the crunchy sound when chewing on it. Haihhhhzzz……

Let’s talk about something ranging from normal to good shall we?

032

033

034

Hand Made Fish Head Noodle is located very near to Calvin’s office. I had fish head noodle while he had sweet and sour chicken. We both ordered the satay-lookalike thingy of pork meat. The fish head noodle is quite good but as a fan of non-bone-meat-eater, I only ate 1 out of the 4 fried fish that came together with the noodle. Calvin was surprised that I choose fish head noodle but I don’t eat the fish :)

There’s another restaurant that I tried together with Alex they all in conjunction of Suk Yee’s birthday celebration. Forgot to take photos because too busy talking and was quite hungry at that time. My first encounter with the restaurant was at Sunway Pyramid where the menu don’t look appetizing at all. It’s not even in the list of the names of restaurant that I sent to Sai Weng through sms. I even said “Sure choose those nice la. If choose something like Ying Ker Lou then sei lor” to  Calvin. When the Sai Weng replied me through sms to wait for him at Ying Ker Lou, my panic level was at 8 out of 10. Calvin sort of laughed at me initially and then calmed me down, assuring that everything will be shitty all right. It turns out that the food isn’t that bad after all. Some of it were quite good actually. Could be better if there’s actually some taste in the soup :P

That’s all for last week update. Got to stop now. Have a long list of important-to-do things waiting for me today.

Meaning of brunch…

Hi people. All the rushing, preparing, dieting, laughing and eating has ended officially last Sunday night. Photos are still with Calvin where he need to photoshop my tummy touch up some details to further enhance the beauty of the photos :)

What is the meaning of brunch? All this while, I thought brunch was actually eating 2 meals in 1. As in breakfast combines with lunch = brunch. The visit to The Pink Sage with Calvin last Sunday proved me wrong. Both of us slept till quite late that day and I suggested that place since I don’t have to diet he never try that place before.

Our drinks. It’s the time-of-the-month for me so a hot chocolate is like mother of all panadol for me :) He ordered Haagen Dazs chocolate milk shake and it tastes like heaven. Really good :)

SNC00296i

His stacked breakfast. Nearly the same as what I had on my first visit but I choose scrambled eggs while he ordered sunny side up. When the breakfast arrives, the kampung girl me spontaneously asked the waitress “One egg or two?”, she replied “Two”. Okay, that is embarassing part one. You thought it will end there? I think I’m like China-woman because I continued with “Oh… I thought the egg comes with 2 yolks”. HOW EMBARASSING!!! Okay, I know there were cases when there’s two yolk in one egg but then… not at that moment okay!!! Haihhh… *hides behind Calvin*

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to….

BRUNCH!! This is what brunch looks like okay. The portion is really out-of-the-world. For us (me and Calvin), it’s like one portion of breakfast and one portion of lunch put together to 1 big plate. Instead of eating 1 portion for 2 meals, brunch at Pink Sage is actually 2 portions in 1 meal. But it’s really good. I think it would be perfect for sharing. The best part? It’s served with mushroom omelette. Yum yum :) Bacon and chicken sausages tasted really good. Too bad both of us can’t finish the pancakes. Haihhh…

Moral of the story : Think twice before ordering brunch in the future :)

Celebration week 1 :)

Hi people. It really felt like Monday for the whole day. Maybe it’s my first day of work for the week :)

001

002

Visited Sakae Sushi with Calvin last Sunday. My current favourite Japanese food will be mushroom udon, soft shell crab temaki, chuka idako and prawn/salmon sushi with something orange colour on top. Hehe :) His eel rice is too wet. Not really nice :)

We celebrated TW’s birthday earlier this year because she will be away from with her family on her birthday. Ming Li suggested Fullhouse at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. Wanted to try this place for quite some time but since the only outlet I know is at Ngau Chay Sui (something like that la… it’s in Cantonese) which is quite far from the main road, the plan to try this place was put on hold. The one in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng is their new outlet.

004

005

006

007

008

I had chicken mushroom pasta while Calvin ordered Salmon steak. Mine could be perfect if they served it with more gravy. The salmon steak’s gravy is very salty but the mash potato is not bad. The tart is a bit disappointing though. Overall, I think their menu might has too little selection of food :) Anyway, Happy Birthday TW!! Love you. *hugz*

Went back to Ipoh with family and Calvin for sis’s wedding dinner. Most of our relative (both mum and dad’s side) attended the dinner, including mum and dad ex classmates :) Visited Sam Poh Tong to pay respect for my late cousin sister.

009

My Ipoh trip will never be complete without …..

010

a trip to Kong Hing, my favourite place to eat Ipoh Hor Fun and pork satay. This is what we had for lunch. Yummy yummy. But too bad the pork intestine satay were sold out :(

Went to colour my hair yesterday. Calvin tagged along too and I came out with …..

012

No. 1 Nerd of the century. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I nearly forced him to walk around Mid Valley looking like that with me. I love his current hairstyle. Shorter and very cute :) me like :)

After that, we headed over to Mid Valley. Initial plan was to watch Twilight 2 but then decided to watch it some other time because the seats were not really nice. Walked around Mid Valley thinking of what to eat for dinner, ended up at….

016

Foong Lye at The Gardens. My first and latest visit to this place was last year with Ken where his food smells like burnt shit. This time, I ordered pork mini steamboat while Calvin had some fish thinggy. Both of our food turned out to be really nice. The portion may look small but we’re extremely full at the end of the day. We even cancelled our dessert. Hehe :) I’m glad that he like the food though :)

The biggest wedding of the era is happening this Saturday at Pavillion. My sis basically told the whole office that I’m her sister when she sent out an e-mail stated that I will be at the registration counter on Saturday night. WITH MY HANDPHONE NUMBER SOMEMORE!! @_@ ya allah, perempuan tu…

Got to stop now. Looking forward this Saturday to wear my pretty dress *winks at Calvin*
